It’s subjective 🙂 , but after purchasing hundreds of apps, I’ve concluded that these are, currently, the best Mac Apps for doing what I do. One of the first things you’ll notice is that I’ve eliminated old-time favourites like Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. I’ve also removed dozens of lesser known apps. Let me know what’s missing and feel free to suggest better apps.

Great list of Mac apps. Many I have, others I don’t need….yet.

The problem with textmate is that it has not been updated for some time. For years it has been stated that Textmate 2 will be coming out soon. Now, the latest is an alpha build before Christmas. As a result, most now consider it vaporware. Will know more by the end of the year. Until then, a great alternative is Sublime Text 2. Many have already migrated to it from textmate. Check it out and see what you think. I’m using it and love it!

I forgot to add that several of your mac app suggestions I purchased as I was already considering them. One such app was Devonthink. Thx for helping me decide!

PS It also comes with a student discount!
